Forward Player is key with the hat trick while Cape Elizabeth High School effective on defense to win by a wide margin on the road

Winning by a large margin, Cape Elizabeth High School triumphed over South Portland High School Varsity 12 - 2 at Portland Ice Arena on Saturday. Cape Elizabeth High School chalked up six goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. In the second period, Cape Elizabeth High School scored four goals to South Portland High School Varsity's one and kept the lead. In the final period, Cape Elizabeth High School outscored their opponents by one goal and kept the lead to win the game.

Leading the way to a win for Cape Elizabeth High School, Forward Player got the hat trick with 12 goals.

Cape Elizabeth High School's Goalie Player stopped nine shots to take the win. South Portland High School Varsity used two goaltenders in their loss. South Portland High School Varsity's Shannon Tully had just 16 saves on 22 shots. South Portland High School Varsity's Kelsey Morton had only 8 saves on 14 shots on goal.

This was the season opener for Cape Elizabeth High School.
